About our school

We welcome all our new families to Bungendore Public School and for those families who are already part of our school we thank you for your continuing support. We trust that this handbook will give you an insight into the daily happenings that make our school an exciting and innovative centre for student learning.

Bungendore is a rural school and currently has around 500 students. We are part of a village that has a strong community spirit. The community holds Bungendore School in very high esteem. It is seen as a school with high standards, excellent student outcomes and an attractive learning and play environment. Our size in no way limits the many personal touches evident in our everyday school life. Your child is unique and very special. Bungendore teachers are passionate in ensuring that every child is able to maximise their learning in a caring environment.

As a staff there is genuine belief and commitment to partnerships in education being vital. The school has developed strong partnerships with many sectors of the community. Our most powerful partnerships are with you, the parents and carers of our students. Working together ensures we provide support for all students needs and deliver effective learning programs. We value your input and support at all times.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in the school in a variety of ways includingm :

  • social and cultural days

  • home reading
  • writing activities
  • excursions
  • use of their personal expertise in areas wherever possible
  • sporting activities
  • school committees and P&C member
